Mrs Carter, Mrs Vaughan and Mr Jordan are the Y5 teachers and they are supported by Mrs Pickering.
We are excited to be working with our new classes and are looking forward to a successful year ahead with a creative curriculum to ensure all the children have a chance to shine.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Victorian Emporium. The children have worked extremely hard since September learning all about the Victorians and it was great to see them share all their knowledge with you. We hope you all had as much fun as us.
Last week Nicole and Nadine went to represent our year group at the Proact Stadium. They are now anti-stigma mental health ambassadors. They will be working closely with Mrs Hodge and will help others to be mental health aware and try to reduce the stigma that is attached to mental health problems. On Wednesday 10th October we are asking the children to wear yellow to start off the campaign.
Year 5 really enjoyed their first visit to Queens Park Sports Centre for our first swimming lesson of the academic year.
What a fabulous week we’ve had in our Year 5 classes this week! In Y5PJ it’s been great to have a go at our Horrible Histories News Broadcasts about the life and times of Queen Victoria, as part of our Victorians Project. Y5 SV/CCW has produced some excellent William Morris Victorian artwork this week, as well as further exploring of Forces in practical science!
Just a reminder that swimming starts in Year 5 this Thursday morning, so please ensure your child has the appropriate swimming kit, towel and goggles (if you gave permission for them to wear them on the letter home).
