We are excited to be working with our new classes and are looking forward to a successful year ahead with a creative curriculum to ensure all the children have a chance to shine.
Year 5 have had a great start to 2018. They have been working hard during their Literacy and Computing lessons to create a mythical movie trailer. Next week we will be entering our trailers into a competition. So watch this space....we may have some movie stars!
This morning the year 5 and 6 children showed off their wonderful talents during our 'Christmas around the world' performance. Each class wowed the audience with some fascinating facts about their countries before singing Christmas carols in different languages! Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents and carers who came to watch.
This week Year 5 have visited the Methodist church at the end of the road. This lovely visit involved making a Christingle, singing songs and hearing an explanation about why some Christians make Christingles to celebrate advent.
A huge well done to Y5VC. A great space production yesterday morning. The children worked extremely hard to practise all their lines and learn the song. Now all Year five are busy working on their Christmas around the World concert.
The year fives have had a fantastic start to their new science topic on space! During science week, the children took part in a variety of exciting activities including making rockets and attempting to launch them, making moon spinners as well as participating in workshops with other classes. The highlights of the week were the planetarium, where the children experienced what it would be like to travel through Saturn's rings as well as watching the giant balloon impressively launch into space taking a picture of the children with it! The children have learnt so much this week and cannot wait to learn more about their topic!
