Our School Council

Spire Junior School Council consists of children from Year 3 to Year 6 who meet regularly to discuss school issues such as school meals, playtimes and the curriculum. The children act as elected representatives and feedback from the meetings is used to improve the school environment.

New School Council Representatives were voted in for each class.

School Council Representatives in Years 5 and 6 helped out with the Children In Need Fundraising and Penalty Shoot Out.

At our outdoor School Council Meeting, we decided to raise money for new playground equipment and new books for our school library. We have made suggestions on how we would like to raise the money too. We know members of our school community feel very strongly about helping the homeless, so we have decided to raise some money for a homeless charity.

School Council members redesigned our Anti-Bullying leaflets for school with Mrs Barnett.

Based on our decision to help the homeless, School Council have worked with Mrs Boulton to make crisp-packet-blankets for those in need. All of the children in school were asked to donate crisp packets to help the project, and Year 6 have made the blankets with Mrs Boulton's help.

After lockdown, some School Council members decided they would like a Crazy Hair Day to raise money for school. This will be held on Thursday 27th June.

Frozen Fridays!

When the weather allows, our School Council will be selling frozen ice-lollies at the end of the school day on both playgrounds, starting on Friday 30th April. If sales are going ahead, this will be communcated through our social media accounts and through Parentmail. All lollies will be 50p. The money we raise will be going towards buying new equipment for our children to use at breaks and lunch times.
